Jeju Police Agency Signs Economic Support Agreement for Crime Victims
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] On the 15th, Jeju Police Agency held a 'Business Agreement Ceremony for Economic Support for Crime Victims' at the Jeju Police Agency with the Korea Racing Authority Jeju Headquarters and the Jeju branch of the Korean Red Cross.
According to Jeju Police Agency on the 16th, this business agreement was prepared to provide living stabilization support funds to victims who need assistance considering their economic situation among crime victims and those in blind spots of support, to help them quickly recover their daily lives.
As part of the agreement, the Korea Racing Authority Jeju Headquarters will designate and donate 10 million won from the victim protection fund to the Jeju branch of the Korean Red Cross. Jeju Police Agency will decide the recipients and amounts through the Victim Protection Working Committee, and the Jeju branch of the Korean Red Cross will execute and manage the funds for the recipients.
Lee Sang-ryul, Chief of Jeju Police Agency, said, "Interest in crime victims is more effective when the police and local community work together," and added, "Jeju Police will continue to do its best to protect crime victims and socially vulnerable groups by establishing security governance with social enterprises as a guardian of the residents."
Meanwhile, Jeju Police has been steadily carrying out activities to protect crime victims, such as supporting a total of 41 crime victims with 68.7 million won from social contribution funds donated by Cheonma Co., Ltd., Lotte Scholarship Foundation, and the Jeju branch of the Korean Red Cross through the Victim Protection Working Committee held in April and June.
