[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Kim Joil) announced on the 15th that it held the '1st Life Safety Team Technical Competition' at the Jeonnam Provincial University Jangheung Campus sports ground.
The competition, which started the day before, was held to share on-site activity rescue techniques among life safety team members, a field that has established itself as part of firefighting activities along with fire, rescue, and first aid, and to improve professionalism.
The life safety field was legislated as a firefighting activity area in 2015, and the number of dispatches has been steadily increasing.
As of last month, the number of life safety dispatches in the province reached 16,597 cases.
In this competition, more than 60 life safety team members from 20 fire stations participated and competed fiercely in six events: beehive removal, animal capture, fire door opening, vehicle door opening, power pump, and safety measures.
The final winning team will receive a commendation from the Governor of Jeonnam Province and earn the right to demonstrate in the life safety field at the national technical competition hosted by the Fire Agency on the 27th.
