With the amendment of the Enforcement Decree of the Industrial Safety and Health Act, from August 18th, all workplaces are required to install rest facilities, and employers who fail to install rest facilities or do not comply with installation and management standards will be subject to fines.
However, for workplaces with fewer than 50 employees, the regulation will apply from August 18, 2023, considering the preparation period.
Accordingly, Changwon City plans to expand the budget scale by linking the worker welfare facility support project, which has been promoted since 2013 targeting manufacturing-centered small and medium enterprises, with the Gyeongsangnam-do project from next year. It will also revise the selection criteria so that relatively small workplaces with fewer than 50 employees can receive priority support, focusing on reducing the burden on employers.
