Meeting of the 'Gumi City Community Security Representative Council' Creating the Welfare Model of Gumi Mayor in the 8th Term
Deliberation on the 5th Community Social Security Plan (2023-2026)
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] On the 14th, Gumi City held a meeting to review the 5th Community Social Security Plan (2023?2026) at the situation room on the 3rd floor of City Hall, attended by 19 members of the Gumi City Community Social Security Representative Council.
The meeting proceeded with the presentation of appointment certificates to new members of the Representative Council, followed by the review of the 5th Community Social Security Plan, which will serve as a milestone for social security policies over the next four years starting next year.
The Community Social Security Plan is a statutory plan under the Social Security Benefits Act, established every four years, and is a mid- to long-term plan encompassing all areas of social security beyond social welfare, including employment, safety, culture, education, and housing.
The 5th Community Social Security Plan supplements the 4th plan, which had insufficient coverage in areas such as women, youth, and safety, and actively reflects areas beyond social welfare, including stable job security, social safety net establishment, education, and culture, incorporating the 8th elected administration’s pledges.
Co-chairman Seok Hojin expressed his gratitude, saying, “I sincerely thank the private sector and public officials who have actively participated since February in establishing the plan, and I hope that based on this, social security in Gumi City will be further enhanced.”
Mayor Kim Jangho thanked the newly appointed members and urged their active participation, stating, “Stable implementation of basic social security policies is very important ahead of urgent issues such as overcoming economic and population crises, and I thank everyone who participated in establishing the 5th Community Social Security Plan for that purpose.”
The Gumi City Community Social Security Council was established in 2005 to promote social security in the region and is composed of the Representative Council, Working Council, Working Subcommittee, and Eup/Myeon/Dong Community Social Security Councils.
