Kakao Games Signs Publishing Agreement for 'ArcheAge 2'
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Choi] Kakao Games announced on the 15th that its subsidiary XL Games has signed a publishing contract for the PC massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) "ArcheAge 2," which is currently under development.
"ArcheAge 2," in which XL Games CEO Song Jae-kyung directly participated in development, inherits the free and creative gameplay and worldview of its predecessor. It features a vast open world and combat action. The game is being developed with the goal of launching service within 2024.
Jo Gye-hyun, CEO of Kakao Games, said, "'ArcheAge 2' is a major title that consolidates the development expertise XL Games has accumulated over many years, so expectations are high," and added, "With this contract, we have acquired the rights for domestic and global service and plan to strengthen our MMORPG lineup further."
