Seoul Asan Medical Center Ranks in Top 10 Worldwide in Five Clinical Fields Including Endocrinology
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] Seoul Asan Medical Center announced on the 15th that it ranked within the top 10 worldwide in 5 out of 11 fields in the '2023 World's Best Hospitals by Clinical Specialty' evaluation conducted by the American news weekly Newsweek.
Seoul Asan Medical Center ranked 3rd globally in the endocrine field, 4th in urology, 6th in gastroenterology, 7th in oncology, and 9th in neurology.
Additionally, it ranked 12th in orthopedics, 26th in pulmonology, 39th in cardiology, 54th in cardiac surgery, and 60th in pediatrics, placing two fields within the top 30 worldwide, one field within the top 50, and two fields within the top 60. In total, seven fields were ranked within the top 30 globally.
Moreover, the fields ranked first domestically included endocrine, urology, gastroenterology, neurology, pulmonology, cardiology, and cardiac surgery, totaling seven fields.
This year, the progress in the endocrine field was particularly remarkable. The endocrine field, which improved its global ranking by two places compared to last year, was selected as a leading hospital for endocrine treatment alongside the Mayo Clinic in the United States and Massachusetts General Hospital of Harvard Medical School.
In the urology field, which Newsweek surveyed for the first time this year, Seoul Asan Medical Center ranked 4th globally, placing it in the top tier alongside the Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in the United States.
