TVING Expands Subtitle Service to Enhance OTT Viewing Convenience
Barrier-Free Subtitles Supported for 1,200 Episodes
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Domestic online video service (OTT) TVING announced on the 15th that it has applied barrier-free Korean subtitle services to original content as well as popular channel content from CJ ENM, JTBC, and others.
Barrier-free subtitles are available when selecting Korean audio description in the subtitle language options. Unlike regular subtitles, barrier-free subtitle services for digitally vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities provide additional audio descriptions for the hearing impaired, including speaker information, music, and sound details beyond just the dialogue. Depending on the viewing environment, subtitle size and font can be adjusted, enhancing viewing convenience.
Works with Korean subtitles provided by TVING include popular TVING original series such as "Yumi's Cells Season 1 and 2," "King of Pigs," and "Gwayee," as well as the latest movies, entertainment shows, and overseas series. A total of 84 titles have subtitles applied, amounting to approximately 1,200 episodes.
TVING plans to continuously expand subtitle-supported content. The TVING original "Ants Are Riding," which is released weekly, provides simultaneous subtitles immediately after release.
