On the morning of the 14th at 10 a.m., during a 5-minute speech at the ‘297th Changnyeong County Council 1st Regular Meeting,’ Councilor Lee stated, “The government is revising and implementing the ‘Act on the Management and Use of Livestock Manure’ to effectively manage livestock manure, recycle resources, contribute to environmental conservation, and promote the development of eco-friendly livestock farming,” adding, “A policy should be established to directly utilize compost produced from the annual treatment of approximately 500,000 tons of livestock manure by livestock farms and to strengthen profit sharing.”
Councilor Lee said, “The implementation of this policy will contribute to saving an external compost budget of 5 to 6 billion KRW annually, preventing the occurrence of green algae in the Nakdong River in advance, ensuring the environmental rights of residents in neighboring local governments, and improving public health,” and added, “The county should reduce the burden on livestock farms by creating a comprehensive livestock manure treatment facility that integrates the treatment of difficult-to-handle livestock manure, food waste, and other organic waste resources to produce energy and utilize it.”
