Wine Festival Enjoyed on a Cool Autumn Night at Hangang... 'Global Wine and Food Trip' Held
Wine and Food from Around the World Gathered in One Place
Two-Day Event at Sebitseom Floating Island
Unlimited Wine Tasting and Abundant Attractions
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] A wine festival where you can enjoy a variety of wines and foods in one place while overlooking the Han River on an autumn night will be held.
Asia Economy announced on the 11th that it will hold the '2022 Global Wine and Food Trip' on the 16th and 17th of this month at the Sebitseom Floating Island (4th-5th floors).
Recently, the domestic wine market is experiencing an unprecedented boom. As the alcohol consumption culture shifts towards leisurely enjoyment, interest in wine has increased because even a single glass can express personal taste and create various stories. Additionally, the emergence of ultra-low-priced wines mainly in large supermarkets has lowered the entry barriers, allowing beginners including the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) to enjoy wine without burden.
The Global Wine and Food Trip, held for two days starting on the 16th at Sebitseom Floating Island in Seocho-gu, Seoul, is a festival where visitors can taste wines from various regions and enjoy foods paired with them. An Asia Economy official said, "Since major domestic wine and food companies are participating, it is expected to be an opportunity to present a new paradigm for wine culture."
Lotte Chilsung Beverage will participate in this Global Wine and Food Trip and showcase location wines from Dave Phinney, the founder of the famous California wine maker ‘Orin Swift’. The location wines introduced this time are blended wines named after alphabet initials. First, ‘Locations CA’ is a blend of Napa Valley grapes, characterized by rich and smooth tannins with attractive blackberry nuances. ‘Locations E’ is a blend of grapes from Spain’s Priorat and Rioja regions, featuring the appealing flavors of ripe plums and spices.
‘Locations F’ and ‘Locations F Ros?’ will also be presented. Locations F is a blend of grapes from France’s Rh?ne, Languedoc-Roussillon, and Bordeaux regions, notable for wild strawberry aroma, lively acidity, and tannins. Locations F Ros? is a classic French Provence ros? wine expressing fresh grapefruit and melon aromas well. Lastly, ‘Locations I’ is a blend of grapes from Italy’s Piedmont and southern Puglia regions, harmonizing soft oak hints with black cherry aroma.
Wines from ‘Grant Burge’ in the Barossa region, a famous Australian wine area, will also be showcased. Grant Burge is a family-run winery since 1855 and is the second largest producer in the Barossa region with an annual production of 500,000 cases. One of its representative products, ‘Grant Burge Philsel Barossa Old Vine Shiraz’, features rich and deep dark crimson, vanilla cream, and plum complex aromas, showing a harmonious balance between oak and fruit flavors, with pure fruit sweetness and softness filling the palate.
