‘KBS Jeon-guk Noraejarang’ Comes to Buk-gu, Gwangju!

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] The longest-running domestic program loved by the entire nation, ‘KBS National Singing Contest,’ will be held in Buk-gu, Gwangju.
According to Buk-gu on the 7th, the ‘KBS National Singing Contest Gwangju Buk-gu Edition’ will take place on the 24th from 2 PM at the auxiliary stadium of Chonnam National University.
This event was prepared to commemorate Buk-gu Citizens' Day this year and to promote the tourism resources of Gwangju Buk-gu, a city of democracy, human rights, and artistic tradition, nationwide. Local specialties such as Mudeungsan watermelons and straw craft products will be introduced.
Any resident except professional singers can participate, and applications can be submitted by visiting the district administrative welfare center or the Buk-gu Office Culture and Arts Division, or by email, until 6 PM on the 16th.
Once registration is complete, a preliminary round will be held on the 22nd from 1 PM at the Buk-gu Cultural Center performance hall to select about 15 final contestants, followed by the final recording on the 24th at the auxiliary stadium of Chonnam National University.
On the day of the final recording, invited singers such as Park Sangcheol, Baeilho, Lee Hyeri, Park Hyeshin, and Lee Dojin will perform, and the event will be hosted with a charming flair by comedian Kim Shinyoung, who succeeded the late Song Hae as the new MC of the National Singing Contest.
Director Moon said, “The ‘KBS National Singing Contest,’ the nation’s most beloved music program, is being held in our Buk-gu for the first time,” adding, “As this meaningful event is held to commemorate Buk-gu Citizens' Day, I hope many residents will participate in this singing contest, which will be a place of harmony and communication.”
Meanwhile, the broadcast will air on November 6th at 12:10 PM on KBS 1TV.
