[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk (Governor Sim Min) and Jeollabuk-do Institute of Health and Environment Research (Director Kim Hoju) have joined hands through collaboration to make Imsil a better place to live.
According to the county on the 7th, an MOU for 'Promotion of Regional Win-Win Projects' was signed at the county office the day before, attended by about 10 officials including Governor Sim Min and Director Kim Hoju of the Institute of Health and Environment Research.
Through this agreement, the two organizations agreed to expand and strengthen regional win-win projects across six fields: environment, hygiene, welfare, health, economy, and publicity, while cooperating more strategically and meticulously.
In the environmental sector, cooperation will be strengthened to create a clean and pleasant living environment through local stream water quality surveys, management of individual sewage treatment facilities, and odor measurement and control.
In the hygiene sector, investigations of food poisoning bacteria in agricultural, livestock, and fishery products produced and distributed within the jurisdiction will be conducted; in welfare, water purifier quality inspections at socially vulnerable facilities; in health, cooperation on investigations of infectious disease vectors such as COVID-19, monkeypox, and ticks will be carried out to ensure safe food and prevent infectious diseases, thereby protecting the health of residents.
In the economic sector, plans include expanding the use of Imsil Love Gift Certificates and revitalizing the local economy through the use of local commercial districts; in publicity, playing a leading role in widely promoting local festivals, events, agricultural specialties, and tourist attractions nationwide.
Director Kim Hoju of the Institute of Health and Environment Research said, “I am very pleased that this agreement with Imsil-gun will give more momentum to protecting the health of local residents and creating a pleasant living environment.”
Governor Sim Min said, “Since the Jeollabuk-do Institute of Health and Environment Research moved to Imsil-gun in 2010, I am truly grateful for the many roles it has played in managing residents’ health, including COVID-19 prevention, and improving quality of life. Through this MOU signing, I ask for even greater support in making Imsil a proud place where anyone can live well, as aimed by the 8th elected administration.”
