Jeonnam Regional Post Office Continues Acts of Love for Chuseok Celebration
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Jeonnam Regional Post Office announced on the 7th that it donated 900kg of rice worth 2 million won to the Happy Sharing Food Market Gwangju Seo-gu Branch to support low-income households in welfare blind spots in celebration of the Chuseok holiday.
The Food Market is a material sharing welfare project managed by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and local governments. It operates as a membership store that receives donations of funds and goods from organizations or individuals and sells daily necessities free of charge to low-income households.
Members are selected by local governments, and the main targets are emergency support households excluded from welfare benefits such as livelihood benefits.
This love-sharing event added significance by purchasing rice produced in our region and donating it to welfare organizations, thereby supporting local farmers who are struggling due to the collapse of rice prices.
Director Song Gwan-ho said, “Ahead of the holiday, we created an opportunity to care for marginalized neighbors in need and to participate in the rice consumption promotion campaign to support grain farmers. We will continue to promote sharing activities together with the local community.”
