Gochang-gun Implements 'Chuseok Holiday Comprehensive Measures' to Minimize Inconvenience for Residents

[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeonbuk Gochang-gun announced on the 7th that it will implement comprehensive measures until the 12th to ensure a safe and happy Chuseok holiday for residents and returning visitors.

Eleven task forces, including COVID-19 response, traffic, price stabilization, resolving residents' inconveniences, and tourism guidance, are organized around a general control team to conduct emergency duty.

In particular, to prevent the re-spread of COVID-19 during the Chuseok holiday, a thorough medical system will be established alongside quarantine measures.

The Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters will operate emergency duty during the Chuseok holiday, run screening clinics, quarantine task forces, and respiratory clinics, and designate and operate on-duty medical institutions and pharmacies to minimize medical service gaps during the holiday period.

Additionally, through the operation of a special transportation countermeasures situation room, vehicle traffic conditions and safe driving will be managed during the holiday period, supporting tourists and returning visitors through special Chuseok holiday traffic measures.

The price stabilization task force will promote protection of ordinary citizens' livelihoods by managing the supply and price stabilization of essential goods and cracking down on origin labeling violations.

Comfort items will also be delivered to all social welfare facilities and low-income households in the area to create a warm holiday atmosphere of sharing during the difficult COVID-19 situation.

In particular, public restrooms at tourist sites in Gochang-gun, including Seonunsan Provincial Park where red spider lilies bloom vividly during Chuseok, will be kept clean to instill a pleasant and clean image of Gochang-gun during the holiday period.

The county will promote focused collection measures for household waste, manage traffic around memorial houses and natural burial sites, and operate a water and sewage inconvenience reporting center to minimize inconveniences for residents and visitors during the holiday.

Along with this, Gochang Eupseong Fortress, Pansori Museum, and Dolmen Museum will be open free of charge on Chuseok day.

County Governor Shim Deokseop said, “As confirmed COVID-19 cases are increasing due to the recent resurgence, we will focus more on quarantine and do our best to ensure the safety and minimize inconveniences for residents and returning visitors.”

He added, “Ahead of the holiday, I ask for efforts to promote rice consumption through a rice gift campaign to visitors to support farmers who are struggling due to decreased rice consumption and falling rice prices.”
