ASUS Holds 22.7% Share of Domestic Laptop Market in Q2
Samsung Electronics 33.7%, LG Electronics 16.2%
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Yeju] Taiwanese company ASUS ranked second in the domestic laptop market share in the second quarter of this year.
According to the domestic laptop market survey for the second quarter of this year recently announced by market research firm IDC on the 5th, ASUS recorded a market share of 22.7% based on total market shipments, ranking second after Samsung Electronics (33.7%). Following were LG Electronics (16.2%), Apple (8.1%), and Lenovo (7.4%) in order.
ASUS also achieved shipments of 312,851 units in the commercial laptop market in the first half of the year, surpassing Samsung (307,073 units) to rank first.

ASUS explained that its strength was due to securing large-scale public projects and targeting new markets such as online education, including signing a contract in February this year to supply 280,000 educational laptops to the Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education.
