Boseong-gun Roams Villages with New Mobile Oral Care Vehicle
Parangsae Visiting Dental Care for Residents with Limited Access
[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Cheon-seok] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it has purchased a new oral care vehicle and started visiting dental care services for residents who have difficulty visiting dental clinics from September.
Last year, Boseong-gun secured a budget of 200 million KRW through the rural medical service improvement project and replaced the oral care vehicle with this fund. The new oral care vehicle is a 34-seat bus equipped with dental medical equipment and facilities such as a wheelchair lift.
The previous vehicle was purchased in 2010 and operated for over 10 years, but frequent breakdowns due to vehicle aging caused disruptions in medical services.
Boseong-gun plans to use this vehicle to regularly visit areas with low accessibility to medical institutions, including eup and myeon areas, elementary schools, senior centers, and social welfare facilities, to provide dental services.
In particular, it is expected that preventive dental care, oral examinations, health education, dental sealants, and fluoride application services can be provided in a more comfortable treatment environment.
Kim Cheol-woo, the governor of Boseong-gun, said, “With the acquisition of the new oral care vehicle, we can smoothly manage the oral health of vulnerable groups, and we will continue to do our best for the health and welfare of residents through active project promotion.”
