Fire Agency Holds Nationwide Fire Chiefs Meeting to Prepare for Typhoon 'Hinnamno'

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The National Fire Agency announced on the 5th that it held a nationwide meeting of fire chiefs yesterday to check the preparedness for Typhoon 'Hinnamnor.'
At the meeting, fire chiefs reported on operating firefighting forces focused on emergency rescues, reinforcing dispatch personnel through early emergency mobilization of firefighters, plans to expand reception desks in preparation for a surge in 119 emergency calls, and strengthening cooperation systems with related organizations such as the military, police, and local governments.
Lee Heung-gyo, Commissioner of the National Fire Agency, instructed to prioritize safety and life rescue by considering complex risk factors such as flying and falling debris, rapid currents, floods, and ground subsidence, and also ordered surveillance activities and resident evacuation measures in areas with underground facilities. In particular, Commissioner Lee emphasized, "Let us respond proactively with a solemn determination to prevent even a single casualty and minimize damage from this typhoon."
The National Fire Agency urged that to prevent precious human lives and property damage caused by the typhoon, residents should frequently check weather information such as the typhoon's path and avoid going out or checking agricultural facilities when storms approach their area.
