Jojong-sik "Lee Jae-myung's prosecution summons, President Yoon's declaration of all-out war on the main opposition party"
"Clear Political Retaliation... Committing Judicial Murder with 'Dusting Investigation' Until They Come Out"
"Mrs. Kim Geon-hee Faces Consecutive Non-Indictments, Opposition Party Faces Consecutive Summons in 'Extreme Biased Investigation'"
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] On the 4th, Cho Jeong-sik, Secretary General of the Democratic Party of Korea, fiercely criticized the prosecution's summons request for party leader Lee Jae-myung, calling it "President Yoon Seok-yeol's declaration of all-out war against the main opposition party."
On the same day, Secretary General Cho held a press conference at the National Assembly and stated, "The summons of the leader of the main opposition party is an unprecedented event in Korean political history, a clear act of political retaliation and oppression of the opposition."
Cho criticized, "The summons came just three days after Lee took office, and one day after a phone call and a proposal for a summit with the president on August 30, with a summons fabricated on absurd grounds. It revealed the ruthless political retaliation through the prosecution reminiscent of the past Central Intelligence Agency's Kim Dae-jung East Sea (abduction) incident."
He continued, "This is a judicial murder by political prosecution through fabricated investigations creating crimes that do not exist, and exhaustive, sweeping investigations until something is found. Mrs. Kim Geon-hee is repeatedly cleared of charges, while opposition figures are repeatedly summoned in a disgracefully biased investigation," he pointed out.
He also said, "Various allegations against Mrs. Kim are met with a dull blade granting impunity, while a sharper blade is wielded against the opposition leader in a typical double standard and unfair investigation."
Secretary General Cho claimed that circumstances contradicting President Yoon's explanation are emerging in the trial of the Deutsche Motors stock manipulation case, stating, "The person who actually falls under false statement disclosure under the Public Official Election Act is President Yoon."
He added, "The current investigation of the opposition leader is a shabby attempt to shift the political situation," and criticized, "The card President Yoon pulled out to regain approval ratings is nothing more than a 'prosecution card'."

He emphasized, "It is clear that the investigation will not end with the opposition leader. Political retaliation against the Moon Jae-in administration and the opposition will intensify," and said, "The Democratic Party will convene an emergency party meeting tomorrow to decide on future countermeasures." He also stated, "We will form two major organizations, tentatively named the 'People's Livelihood Economic Crisis Overcoming Organization' and the 'Yoon Seok-yeol Regime Political Oppression Countermeasure Organization,' to respond to opposition oppression at the party level."
