"South Korean Government YouTube Account Hacked... Restored in 4 Hours"
[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] It has been confirmed that the official YouTube channels of the Government of the Republic of Korea and the Korea Tourism Organization were hacked and their accounts were hijacked.
According to the information technology (IT) industry on the 3rd, the Government of the Republic of Korea's YouTube channel was hijacked due to an external hacking attack but was restored after about 4 hours. The account has approximately 262,000 subscribers.
The Government of the Republic of Korea's YouTube account was confirmed to have been changed to a channel named "SpaceX Invest" at around 3:30 a.m. that day. The channel broadcast a live video related to cryptocurrency featuring an interview with Elon Musk.
Prior to this, the Korea Tourism Organization's channel was also attacked twice by hackers and is currently unavailable for use.
