According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, Hinnamnor, the strongest typhoon this year, is expected to move northward near South Korea from the 3rd while maintaining a powerful force with maximum wind speeds of 55 m/s.
In response, Mokpo Maritime Police is closely monitoring the typhoon's path in real-time and is making every effort to prevent typhoon damage through proactive safety management.
The Maritime Police has strengthened emergency rescue readiness in preparation for the typhoon's northward movement, increased safety patrols in vulnerable coastal areas such as ports, harbors, coastlines, and breakwaters, and is inspecting the mooring conditions of long-term moored vessels and high-risk ships.
Additionally, fishing vessels operating in the local waters are being encouraged to seek early shelter, and vessels moored in dangerous ports and harbors will be moved to land.
In case of weather warnings, the Maritime Police plans to cooperate with related agencies to control vessel departures according to relevant laws, enhance distress communication monitoring, and continuously broadcast navigation safety announcements.
