Lotte Department Store Opens Korea's First Nike Kids Store
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Lotte Department Store announced on the 1st that it will open the first Nike Kids store at its Jamsil branch. This is the first store specialized for kids as the target audience.
The Nike Kids store, debuting on the 8th floor of the Jamsil branch on the 2nd, offers a comprehensive range of Nike apparel, goods, and accessories for infants, children, and juniors. Nike's brand value is high and it has a strong fan base, leading to significant demand for kids' products among young parents. In response, Lotte Department Store collaborated with Hanse MK, Nike’s strategic partner, to open the first dedicated Nike Kids store. The Jamsil branch, where the first store opens, has a relatively young surrounding population with an average age in the early 40s and a high proportion of infants and children.
The Nike Kids Jamsil store spans approximately 181㎡ (55 pyeong), making it the largest sports kids store in a department store setting. It is more diversely designed than typical kids stores, featuring a large media facade, shoe zone, and custom zone. At the center of the store is a shoe zone themed around a running track, incorporating eco-friendly elements such as recycled fabric panels, sponge, and recycled props.
The product lineup is specialized into two lines: Nike and Jordan. The overall product ratio is about 60% Nike and 40% Jordan. Additionally, the quantities of apparel and shoes are balanced equally to allow for a variety of outfits suitable for juniors from infancy up to 15 years old.
Exclusive limited-edition items and custom services are also available only at the Nike Kids store. Limited-edition products, including premium seasonal items and trending products, will be offered. These limited editions will be sold through a draw event where customers can enter a lottery for the chance to purchase. In the custom zone, children’s names, birthdays, and other personalized designs can be engraved or created to customize products according to individual preferences.
To celebrate the store opening, an event will be held. Customers who purchase over 150,000 KRW from the day of opening will receive a card wallet or skill ball on a first-come, first-served basis. On the first weekend of opening, the 3rd, 100 pairs of the highly popular Nike shoe model ‘Dunk Low GS’ will be sold in limited quantities, followed by draw events for models such as Dunk Low PS and Retro High.
