Jeongeup-si Hosts Donghak Peasant Revolution UCC Contest
[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 31st that it will hold the "4th Donghak Peasant Revolution UCC Contest," which depicts the life of General Jeon Bong-jun.
The purpose of this contest is to reexamine the achievements of General Jeon Bong-jun, the eternal leader of the nation and the people, establish his status, create new values of the Donghak Peasant Revolution, and secure and distribute cultural content resources.
The city plans to select award-winning works through two rounds of judging after receiving submissions divided into two categories: youth and university/general.
Eligibility to participate in the contest is open to all Korean citizens, and individuals or teams (groups) can participate.
Submitted works must be videos within 4 to 5 minutes, personally produced by individuals or teams, and must not have won awards in other contests.
Individuals or groups wishing to participate can fill out and submit the application form on the city hall website from next month 1st until October 31st.
For outstanding UCC video works, the city plans to award a total prize money of 28 million KRW to 14 teams after internal judging in November.
The city expects that through this contest, General Jeon Bong-jun’s spirit of loving the people will be reevaluated, and his revolutionary spirit will be reexamined.
Mayor Lee Hak-su said, “By looking into the life of General Jeon Bong-jun, the supreme leader of the Donghak Peasant Revolution, it will be an opportunity to reflect on the world he dreamed of,” and added, “The city will continue to play a leading role in the Donghak Peasant Revolution promotion projects to carry on the revolutionary spirit of our ancestors and to set history right.”
