Gokseong-gun to Provide 200,000 Won Daily Recovery Happiness Support Fund to All Residents

[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Cha Jong-seon] Jeonnam Gokseong-gun (Governor Lee Sang-cheol) announced that it will provide a daily recovery happiness support fund of 200,000 KRW per person to all residents.

Many people are experiencing double hardships as the prolonged COVID-19 situation is compounded by a recent rapid rise in prices.

Accordingly, Gokseong-gun decided to provide the daily recovery happiness support fund to revitalize the depressed local economy and create a happier Gokseong for its residents.

Currently, Gokseong-gun is preparing for the payment and plans to distribute it after the Chuseok holiday in September.

A total budget of about 5.5 billion KRW is required, and the approval of the 2nd supplementary budget must be confirmed at the Gokseong-gun Council’s regular meeting budget and accounts committee held from September 1 to 14.

Gokseong-gun will announce the payment plan through its homepage on August 31 and accept applications from September 21 to November 30 for payment.

The payment target is people residing in Gokseong-gun (including marriage immigrants and permanent residents), and the payment will be made in the local currency, Gokseong Simcheong Gift Certificates. The residency requirement is based on August 30, 2022, according to Article 6 of the Gokseong-gun Emergency Disaster Relief Fund Support Ordinance.

However, those without a registered residence and those who died before the payment standard date are excluded from the payment target.

Applications for payment will be made collectively by the head of household or household members per household. In the case of cohabitants, they can apply separately as the head of a single-person household or delegate the application to the head of household.

If a proxy applies, a power of attorney and supporting documents such as a family relation certificate must be submitted.

A Gokseong-gun official said, “Our county has set ‘A Happier Gokseong for Residents’ as the goal of the 8th elected administration. Through the daily recovery happiness support fund, we will create a happy Gokseong for each and every resident.”
