30th Anniversary of Korea-China Diplomatic Relations... Seoul City Holds 'Seoul-China Day' Online Event
Non-face-to-face 'Tourism Travel' Operated for One Week
Introducing Diverse Cultural and Tourism Elements of Seoul and China
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 31st that it will operate the "10th Seoul-China Day" for seven days from the 1st to the 7th of next month.
Marking its 10th anniversary this year, the "Seoul-China Day" event is a representative Korea-China cultural exchange platform jointly hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the Embassy of China in Korea, and the Chinese Cultural Center in Korea since 2013. Due to COVID-19 prevention measures, "Seoul-China Day" will be held online and can be viewed and participated in on the dedicated festival website, Festival InSeoul.
Along with videos featuring walking tours, bus tours, and gourmet trips in Seoul, viewers can virtually explore various tourist destinations in China such as Gansu, Inner Mongolia (Neimenggu), Yunnan, and Sichuan, injecting new vitality into the cultural and tourism industries of both Seoul and China.
Additionally, under the theme "Focusing on Heilongjiang (黑?江)," viewers can experience videos showcasing the current status, tourism, cuisine, arts, and cultural heritage of Heilongjiang Province, known as the land of snow and ice. Selected as this year's special city by the Chinese Cultural Center in Korea, Heilongjiang Province is located in northeastern China and is famous for the Harbin Ice and Snow World and Ice Lantern Festival. It is a city where Chinese and European cultures blend, situated near the Russian border.
Furthermore, the essence of various Chinese cultures such as traditional festivals, dance, drama, intangible cultural heritage, cuisine, and films will be introduced through videos and photos, with Korean and Chinese descriptions provided for all works to ensure that both Seoul citizens and Chinese visitors can comfortably enjoy the event.
To complement the monotony of the online format and provide citizens with direct opportunities to experience Chinese culture, a "China Travel Certification Photo" event will also be held. Citizens who certify their China travel routes and photos will be entered into a drawing to win Seoul Love Gift Certificates. Additionally, citizen participation events such as traditional Chinese jianzhi (剪?, paper cutting), doll crafts, and panda doll making will be conducted.
