POSCO Corporate Citizenship Friends Hold a Joyful 'Donghaeng Busking' Event
September 2nd, 6 PM, Busking Stage at Gwangyang Jungma Market
Providing Performance Opportunities for Indie Musicians and Cultural Experiences for Local Residents
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] ‘Corporate Citizen Friends,’ a social contribution activity involving POSCO and its partner company employees, will hold a ‘Donghaeng (Neighborhood Happiness) Busking’ event at Gwangyang Jungma Market on September 2, delivering a message of harmony to local residents.
Last year, Corporate Citizen Friends conducted the ‘Corona We-ro↑’ busking event to ‘comfort’ local residents exhausted by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and regional musicians who had drastically fewer performance opportunities, encouraging everyone to unite and overcome the current difficulties together.
This year, as the COVID-19 pandemic is coming to an end, the event has been renamed ‘Donghaeng Busking,’ meaning ‘Neighborhood Happiness’ and ‘Happiness Together,’ to once again plan a busking performance and promote harmony within the local community.
The event will feature a total of four teams, including the fusion jazz band Sojaeji, which is actively performing in the Gwangyang, Suncheon, and Yeosu areas. They will present a variety of music and performances ranging from acoustic to K-pop, magic performances, hip-hop, and R&B, delighting the audience’s eyes and ears.
‘Donghaeng Busking’ will take place on September 2 (Friday) from 6 PM to 8 PM on the busking stage at Gwangyang Jungma Market and is free for anyone to attend.
A POSCO official said, “We ask for the interest and participation of Gwangyang citizens. This event will be a time to promote harmony among everyone,” adding, “Since last year’s Corona We-ro busking received great responses, we plan to provide great enjoyment this time as well.”
Meanwhile, ahead of Chuseok, Corporate Citizen Friends plans to carry out a ‘Good Prepayment’ campaign at Gwangyang Jungma Market before the busking performance to revitalize the local economy and support vulnerable groups.
