Two Suspects in Daejeon Kookmin Bank Robbery and Murder Case Arrested After 21 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] A suspect who killed a bank employee with a pistol and fled with 300 million won in cash at a Kookmin Bank parking lot in Daejeon 21 years ago has been arrested by the police.
According to the Daejeon Police Agency on the 27th, a pre-trial detention hearing for two suspects including Mr. A, who were arrested on charges of murder robbery, was held at the Daejeon District Court from 2 p.m. today.
Mr. A and others are accused of shooting Kim (43), the bank teller manager, with live ammunition at the underground parking lot of the Kookmin Bank Dunsan branch in Seo-gu, Daejeon, around 10 a.m. on December 21, 2001, and fleeing with 300 million won in cash.
Kim, who sustained severe injuries, was transferred to a hospital but eventually died.
It is reported that Mr. A and others are denying the charges during the police investigation.
