Gyeongbuk Happy Village No. 48’ at Songsan 3-ri, Dongmyeong-myeon, Chilgok, organized by the Gyeongbuk Comprehensive Volunteer Center.
On this day, about 200 volunteers, including local volunteer organizations and company executives and employees, participated in the event.
They identified the service needs of village residents in advance and carried out various talent-sharing activities in 17 fields by more than 20 organizations, including mural painting, electrical safety inspections for all households in the village, support for solar wall lights and portable fire extinguishers, mobile laundry services, and visiting mobile welfare center services.
Additionally, with sponsorship from Gyeongbuk Development Corporation and the Daegu·Gyeongbuk Regional Headquarters of Korea Gas Corporation, a wider range of services was provided to the village residents.
Lee Sang-gu, Chairman of the Gyeongbuk Comprehensive Volunteer Center, said, “The practice of talent-sharing volunteer work through collaboration among the public, private, and corporate sectors is greatly contributing to the revitalization of the local community,” adding, “We will continue to actively lead efforts to spread a culture of sharing through various volunteer projects and create a happy society in Gyeongbuk.”

Starting with Happy Village No. 1, Hwasan-ri, Punggak-myeon, Cheongdo in April 2013, the program has continued up to Happy Village No. 48, Songsan 3-ri, Dongmyeong-myeon, Chilgok, and plans to proceed up to No. 52 this year.
