As part of the Gijang-gun Youth Safety Net project, the ‘Crisis Youth Self-Harm Scar Removal Service’ provides customized services such as self-harm scar removal and professional psychological counseling at Gijang-gun partner hospitals for youth experiencing psychological and emotional difficulties due to self-harm scars.
Applications for the service are open to any at-risk youth aged 9 to 24 residing in Gijang-gun who wish to have their self-harm scars removed.
Previously, priority was given to low-income vulnerable youth, but this time, the support restriction regulations have been removed.
Applications can be submitted by the institution to which the youth belongs via official documents, or the youth themselves can apply in person or by email until September 20.
A representative from the Gijang-gun Youth Safety Net stated, “In expanding support, we have placed no limits on the number of recipients or eligibility requirements to ensure that not a single youth in need is missed,” and added, “We hope that all youth experiencing psychological and emotional difficulties due to self-harm scars receive support and can start a stable new daily life.”
