Enjoy a Variety of Foods Including Yukjeon and Jinju Jinmaek... Temporary Opening on the 26th-27th
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City in Gyeongnam will temporarily open the Ollbam Night Market, which lights up the old downtown at night, from 6 PM to 11 PM on the 26th and 27th during the Jinju Cultural Heritage Night event, around the Nongae Market area.
This temporary opening of the Ollbam Night Market, prepared alongside the launch of the Jinju Commercial District Revitalization Foundation, was organized as a tourism content initiative for traditional markets to revitalize the traditional market, which has been depressed due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, and to attract nighttime and stay-type tourists.
At this night market, 13 unique food stalls will operate, offering Jinju traditional dishes such as Yukjeon, along with beef bulgogi sushi, okonomiyaki, menbosha, and small gimbap. Additionally, street performances by local cultural artists will be held, and the Ollbam Song Festival, open to all night market visitors, will take place with preliminaries on the 26th and finals on the 27th.
As an event, customers who purchase food at the night market above a certain amount will receive coupons usable at the Ollbam Night Market. A tasting event for Jinju Jinmaek, the region’s representative beer that will refresh the summer night, is also scheduled.
