The city plans to create sustainable island villages through income generation by resident organizations.
A city official said, “Ando and Hwataedo possess unique island culture and ecological resources, and through infrastructure expansion and strengthening resident capabilities, we plan to make them islands where people want to visit and live,” adding, “We believe this will greatly contribute to the successful hosting of the 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo.”
