[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) announced on the 23rd that it donated 30 million KRW together with related companies of the Trade Center to aid in the recovery of damages caused by the recent record-breaking heavy rains in the Seoul metropolitan area and central regions.
The Trade Center affiliates that participated in the fundraising include COEX, Korea Trade Network (KTNET), Korea City Air Terminal (CALT), Korea City Air Terminal Asset Management (CAAM), and WTC Seoul.
According to KITA, the donation will be used through the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association to provide emergency relief supplies to disaster victims and support recovery efforts at the affected sites.
Hong Sagyo, Director of Personnel and General Affairs at KITA, said, "We extend our deepest condolences to the residents affected by the heavy rains, the worst in over a century," adding, "We hope this donation will help the local community recover quickly and assist disaster victims in returning to their daily lives, even if only a little."

Meanwhile, KITA has been engaged in corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities by donating funds whenever major domestic and international disasters occur, such as supporting the families of the Cheonan ship sinking victims in 2010, the Sewol ferry disaster victims' families in 2014, the Nepal earthquake victims in 2015, and the wildfire recovery efforts in Gangwon Province in 2019.
