Gwangju Buk-gu Implements Comprehensive Measures for Resident Life Stability During Chuseok Holiday
By the 12th of next month, 10 tasks in two major areas related to COVID-19 response and residents' daily life will be promoted
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju City, has taken measures to minimize the inconvenience of residents celebrating Chuseok amid the resurgence of COVID-19.
On the 23rd, Buk-gu announced that it will implement a ‘Comprehensive Plan for Resident Life Stability’ consisting of 10 tasks in two major areas: COVID-19 response and resident life, until October 12th in celebration of Chuseok.
First, a special quarantine week will be designated to guide the practice of daily quarantine, and compliance with quarantine rules at multi-use facilities such as large marts and traditional markets will be intensively inspected.
During the Chuseok holiday period, screening clinics and the COVID-19 call center will operate normally, and six emergency medical institutions will be designated to respond thoroughly to resident safety, from testing symptomatic COVID-19 cases to managing those under home treatment.
Additionally, convenience in purchasing holiday seasonal products will be provided through restrictions on unfair trade practices, public disclosure of prices by distribution companies on their websites, and origin labeling inspections.
Safety accidents will be prevented through inspections of vulnerable facilities, and a step-by-step work system will be established according to weather conditions such as heavy rain and heatwaves to prepare for any emergencies.
Furthermore, resident inconvenience will be minimized through the operation of a living inconvenience reporting center, preparation of living waste collection measures (collection on 2 out of 4 holiday days), and promotion of 15 unmanned civil service issuance machines.
On Chuseok day, traffic guidance will be provided around the National 5·18 Democratic Cemetery and Yeongnak Gongrak Park to facilitate visitors, and a pleasant atmosphere for visiting ancestral graves will be created through surrounding environment maintenance.
Director Moon said, “As COVID-19 is rapidly resurging, we will prioritize resident safety and implement the comprehensive plan during the Chuseok period,” adding, “We also ask residents to comply with quarantine rules to have a safe holiday.”
