Prosecutors Investigate Former 1st Vice Minister of Science and ICT over 'Moon Government Blacklist Allegations'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The prosecution has summoned a former 1st Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT as a witness in connection with the blacklist allegations.
According to the legal community on the 22nd, the Criminal Division 6 of the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Seo Hyunwook) is currently investigating Mr. A, who served as the 1st Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT during the Moon Jae-in administration, as a witness.
The prosecution is reportedly examining whether there was any pressure from the Science and Technology Innovation Headquarters against Mr. A.
The Ministry of Science and ICT has been accused of conducting a targeted audit after demanding the resignation of former President Lim Gi-cheol of the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Planning and Evaluation at the end of 2017, when he did not comply.
