Jeju Fire Station Conducts Training for Ship Fire Preparedness
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Jeju Fire Department announced on the 21st that on the 20th, about 10 firefighters and 6 fire trucks were mobilized to conduct a self-training exercise for ship fire preparedness targeting docked fishing vessels at Yeondae Port in Oedo.
The key training contents of the day included ▲operation training of suction hoses for fire suppression using seawater ▲waterproof training with foam nozzles equipped with 65mm hoses ▲selection of appropriate vehicle deployment locations within ports and harbors ▲exploration of methods to disperse (separate) densely docked vessels ▲familiarization with mooring and towing equipment for fire-affected ships.
A Jeju Fire Department official stated, “This training was conducted assuming an actual ship fire situation, aiming to devise initial fire suppression measures and to protect the lives and property of the public through efficient fire suppression and rescue operations in case of disasters.”
