North Korea's Kim Yo-jong: "Missile Launch Site Two Days Ago Was Anju, Not Oncheon"
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Kim Yo-jong, Vice Director of the Workers' Party of North Korea, claimed that the two cruise missiles launched on the 17th were fired from Anju City, South Pyongan Province, not Oncheon in South Pyongan Province. She pointed out that the South Korean government and military authorities were wrong in announcing Oncheon as the launch site of the North Korean cruise missiles.
In a statement published under her name in the Workers' Party's official newspaper Rodong Sinmun on the 19th, Vice Director Kim asserted, "Regrettably, the site of our weapons test launch conducted the day before was not the Oncheon area hastily and clumsily announced by the South Korean authorities, but rather 'Geumseong Bridge' in Anju City, South Pyongan Province."
Vice Director Kim made this criticism of the South Korean government's intelligence capabilities on North Korea after condemning President Yoon Suk-yeol's denuclearization roadmap and North Korea policy, the 'Bold Initiative.'
She said, "I am truly curious why those who habitually recite phrases like close cooperation between South Korea and the U.S., tracking and surveillance, and firm readiness cannot even properly disclose the launch time and location, nor reveal the specifications of the weapon system."
