On the morning of the 18th, the county held a “Meeting for Enhancing Integrity in the Construction Sector” to deeply discuss measures to improve integrity in the vulnerable areas of construction management and supervision, and to focus administrative efforts on improving the perception of integrity.
At the meeting, about 40 people, including County Governor Jin Byeong-yeong, heads of 16 contract offices, responsible officers, and the head of the Construction and Transportation Department, gathered in one place to openly exchange opinions on ways to raise the perception of integrity.
In particular, the meeting proposed alternatives such as implementing an upper limit on private contracts and forming a selection committee for small-scale non-statutory projects to improve integrity in the construction sector, fairness in contracts, and appropriateness in project selection.
Additionally, to eradicate paper construction company projects, measures were established through role allocation by department, including implementing electronic contracts for private contracts over 10 million won in the contracting department, enforcing the principle of on-site representatives residing at project departments, strengthening education for supervising officials, and conducting related inspections by the audit department.
