11st, Male Executive Suspended Over Sexual Harassment Allegations by Fellow Executives
[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] 11st has suspended a male executive accused of sexually harassing a female colleague executive.
On the 17th, 11st announced that it had imposed a one-month suspension on male executive Mr. A and removed him from his executive position. CEO-level executive Mr. B, who was present at the same time, was also reprimanded for management responsibility.
Mr. A was accused of sexually harassing female executive Ms. C during a company dinner in April. Ms. C informed Mr. B, who was also present, about the incident, but Mr. B took no action. Eventually, Ms. C resigned from the company at the end of June and changed jobs. After Ms. C's report, other female executives also claimed to have suffered various damages from Mr. A.
11st investigated the allegations and held a disciplinary committee meeting at the end of last month. Subsequently, disciplinary actions were decided for Mr. A and Mr. B. Mr. A denied the misconduct and requested a retrial, but the suspension and removal from position were finalized.
