Incheon Office of Education Selects 10 Sites for Next Year's 'Green Smart Future Schools'
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 17th that it has selected 10 schools as targets for next year's Green Smart Future School project.
The target schools include Incheon Dohwa Elementary School, Incheon Sungui Elementary School, Incheon Singwang Elementary School, Incheon Sinhung Elementary School, Yeongheung Elementary School, and Bupyeongdong Elementary School. These schools will begin preliminary planning, design, and construction starting November this year and are scheduled to be completed as Green Smart Future Schools by the end of 2025.
The Office of Education decided on the project targets after receiving project applications from each school in May and conducting quantitative and qualitative evaluations based on factors such as building age, safety rating, seismic performance, and surrounding conditions.
The Green Smart Future School project involves rebuilding or remodeling school buildings that are over 40 years old to install intelligent classrooms based on advanced information and communication technology (ICT).
