[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yeom Tae-young, Deputy Governor for Economy of Gyeonggi Province, expressed that he feels a heavy sense of responsibility as he takes on an important role amid the severe situation where people's livelihoods are becoming difficult, and pledged to do his best to create a Gyeonggi Province that looks forward to tomorrow more than today.
Deputy Governor Yeom, in a letter sent to public officials of Gyeonggi Province on the 17th, said, "As of today, I have assumed the position of the new Deputy Governor for Economy of Gyeonggi Province," and added, "I consider it a great honor to be able to work with you as a public official of Gyeonggi Province, the largest metropolitan local government in South Korea and a leader of the country's future."
He continued, "In a situation where the difficulties of people's livelihoods are increasing day by day, I feel a heavy calling and great responsibility in taking on the important role of Deputy Governor for Economy," and promised, "Like this year's four-character idiom chosen by small and medium-sized business owners, 'Jungryeokrisan (衆力利山)' meaning 'many hands make light work,' I will always listen attentively to the difficulties of residents, small merchants, and entrepreneurs with a humble attitude together with the public officials of Gyeonggi Province, and devote all efforts to overcoming the economic crisis and prioritizing the restoration of people's livelihoods."
Furthermore, he said, "As the chairman of the transition committee for the 8th elected governor of Gyeonggi Province, I was able to feel the hard work, dedication, and passion of public officials toward the residents while visiting various sites," and added, "Therefore, I am very much looking forward to the future of Gyeonggi Province that we will create together."
Deputy Governor Yeom concluded by emphasizing, "Together with Governor Kim Dong-yeon and the public officials of Gyeonggi Province, I will do my best to overcome the current crisis and build 'Gyeonggi, the center of change and opportunity,' and 'a Gyeonggi that looks forward to tomorrow more than today.'"
