Able C&C, Consecutive Profit for 2 Quarters... Sales Decrease by 14.4%
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Able C&C, which operates cosmetics brands such as Missha, A'PIEU, Chogongjin, Stila, Cellapy, and Lapothicell, announced on the 17th that its consolidated sales for the second quarter of this year reached 64.9 billion KRW, a 14.4% decrease compared to the same period last year.
Operating profit was 2.4 billion KRW, an increase of 8.4 billion KRW from last year, marking two consecutive quarters of profit following the first quarter.
For the first half of the year, sales amounted to 121.6 billion KRW, and operating profit was 3 billion KRW.
Able C&C explained that sales growth in overseas markets, centered on its subsidiaries in the United States and Japan, drove the performance. In the case of the U.S. subsidiary, sales increased by 71.8% in the second quarter compared to the same period last year, led by growth on Amazon utilizing the flagship brands Missha and A'PIEU. The Japanese subsidiary saw a 21.6% increase in sales due to growth in drug channels and e-commerce.
