Koo Kwang-mo, LG Chairman, Receives 7.1 Billion KRW in First Half Salary... 4.85 Billion KRW as Bonus
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Tae-min] Koo Kwang-mo, chairman of LG Group, received approximately 7.1 billion KRW in compensation in the first half of this year.
According to LG's semi-annual report on the 16th, Chairman Koo received a total of 7.139 billion KRW in the first half, including salary (base pay and role pay) of 2.288 billion KRW and bonuses of 4.851 billion KRW. This is 8.5% more compared to the first half of last year (6.579 billion KRW).
LG explained, "The bonuses reflect achievements made despite difficult management conditions such as the resurgence of COVID-19 and ongoing external uncertainties, as well as the slowdown in domestic economic growth." They added, "We also considered contributions to business structure advancement and enhancement of business competitiveness for discovering future growth engines from a long-term perspective."
Kwon Young-soo, former CEO and vice chairman who moved to LG Energy Solution, received 1.592 billion KRW in bonuses and 3 million KRW in salary from LG in the first half, and 1.048 billion KRW in salary and bonuses from LG Energy Solution.
Kim Jong-hyun, advisor at LG Energy Solution, received a total of 6.169 billion KRW, including retirement income of 4.218 billion KRW. Additionally, former president Kwon Soon-hwang received 4.284 billion KRW in the first half of this year, including retirement income of 3.527 billion KRW.

Shin Hak-cheol, CEO of LG Chem, received 3.253 billion KRW in compensation in the first half of this year. Specifically, his salary was 910 million KRW and bonuses were 2.352 billion KRW.
