Recruitment of 'Citizen Planning Group' for Establishing 2040 Muan County Basic Plan
Drawing the Future of Muan 2040 as Envisioned by Its Residents
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do, is recruiting 50 members for the Citizen Planning Group to participate in establishing the 2040 Muan County Basic Plan until the 30th of this month.
The Citizen Planning Group is composed of five divisions: Urban & Housing, Culture & Tourism, Education & Welfare, Economy & Industry, and Transportation, Environment & Safety, and operates as an unpaid honorary position.
Once recruitment is completed in September, the Citizen Planning Group will discuss policies to be reflected in the basic plan through a total of four facilitation sessions with urban planning experts, and will present a new vision, goals, and development directions for Muan 20 years from now.
Citizens who wish to participate can download the application form from the website, fill it out, and apply via mail, fax, or email.
Since this plan will greatly affect the lives and property rights of citizens, it is expected that the Citizen Planning Group will serve as a guide in drawing the blueprint for Muan.
County Governor Kim San said, “Since this recruitment of the Citizen Planning Group is a new attempt by Muan County involving citizens from the planning stage, it is expected that a rational and widely agreed urban plan will be established,” and added, “We hope many citizens will participate so that diverse opinions can be presented.”
