Jeongeup-si Imposes and Notifies 1.34 Billion KRW in Regular Resident Tax
[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City, Jeonbuk announced on the 16th that it has imposed and notified KRW 1.34 billion in resident tax (individual and business place categories) for 53,460 cases in August this year.
KRW 510 million was imposed for 47,053 individual resident tax cases, and KRW 830 million was imposed for 6,407 business place resident tax cases.
The regular resident tax is a tax imposed every year on July 1 on household heads residing in Jeongeup City and individual business owners or corporations operating business places.
For the individual resident tax, KRW 11,000 including local education tax is imposed on household heads, and for the business place category, KRW 55,000 is imposed on individual business owners with VAT of KRW 48 million or more, and KRW 55,000 to KRW 220,000 is imposed on corporations depending on capital and number of employees.
The payment period for the regular resident tax is from today until the 31st. If payment is not made within the deadline, an additional 3% surcharge will be charged.
Payments can be made at nationwide financial institution counters or automated machines using personal bankbooks, cash cards, or credit cards.
Also, payments can be conveniently made without visiting a bank by using internet payment via Wetax and Giro, or virtual account transfers.
