Jeju Fire Headquarters Strengthens COVID-19 Prevention at Jeju Safety Experience Center
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] The Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Fire Safety Headquarters (Chief Park Geun-oh) announced on the 16th that it will strengthen COVID-19 quarantine measures to ensure safe experiences as the number of visitors to the Jeju Safety Experience Center steadily increases.
This year, the total number of visitors to the Jeju Safety Experience Center reached 45,830 (as of the end of last month), a 324% increase compared to the same period last year (10,808 as of the end of July 2021), and it was analyzed that the number of visitors continues to increase steadily every month this year as well.
Among the visitors, local residents increased by about 21,000 (283%↑) compared to last year, and tourists increased by about 13,000 (423%↑), showing that both residents and tourists frequently visit the Safety Experience Center.
The Jeju Safety Experience Center plans to establish and focus on quarantine strengthening measures to ensure safe experiences for residents and tourists.
Recently, a quarantine countermeasure meeting for COVID-19 response was held to check sector-specific measures, and on the 25th, a professional education session for infection prevention will be conducted by inviting the team leader of the Infectious Disease Management Support Group as an instructor.
Measures include designating quarantine managers, assigning temperature check staff at the main entrance (closing other entrances), strengthening monitoring, ventilating and disinfecting the building (more than three times daily), and disinfecting the experience facilities after program completion to create an environment that prevents infection spread.
Additionally, to prepare for multiple confirmed cases among experience program instructors, a pool of professional personnel will be secured to avoid any operational gaps at the experience center, ensuring visitors can use the center with peace of mind.
A representative of the Jeju Safety Experience Center said, “Recently, the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in the province has been continuously occurring, and the number of visitors to the experience center is also steadily increasing. We will do our utmost to implement quarantine measures so that visitors can use the center safely.”
