Kolon Global, Industry's First to Introduce 'Color Universal Design'
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Seoyul] Kolon Global is establishing a color design system that considers socially vulnerable groups.
On the 15th, Kolon Global announced that it will be the first in the construction industry to apply Color Universal Design (CUD).
Color Universal Design refers to the use of colors that consider all groups with various color perceptions due to individual genetic traits or eye diseases, beyond the aesthetic function of colors. Universal design is significant as it considers socially vulnerable groups such as colorblind and elderly people who experience inconvenience in apartment complexes.
To apply this design, Kolon Global collaborated with the KCC Color Design Center to research and develop color schemes for Color Universal Design. They enhanced the manual through surveys of colors actually used in recently completed apartment complexes and big data analysis. The design specialized by Kolon Global features graphics focused on clear information and the use of brightness differences.
