US Congressional Delegation to Visit Taiwan for Two Days Starting Today
Visit to Taiwan on the 14th-15th
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] A U.S. congressional delegation will visit Taiwan on the 14th and 15th to meet with local senior leaders. This comes 12 days after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan.
The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) issued a statement on the 14th announcing that Democratic members Ed Markey, John Garamendi, Alan Lowenthal, Don Beyer, and Republican member Aumua Coleman Radewagen will visit Taiwan as part of their Indo-Pacific regional tour.
AIT serves as the de facto U.S. embassy in Taiwan. The delegation is scheduled to meet with local senior leaders to discuss U.S.-Taiwan relations, regional security, trade and investment, global supply chains, climate change, and mutual interests, according to AIT.
Previously, Speaker Pelosi visited Taiwan on the 2nd and 3rd of this month.
