'Eodaemyeong' Confirmed in Chungcheong... Lee Jae-myung Supporters 73.3%·Public Opinion 79.7% (Update)
In the Supreme Council member primary, candidate Jeong Cheong-rae ranked first with 28.22% in the party members' vote
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party of Korea's candidate for party leader, confirmed overwhelming support exceeding the majority in the Chungcheong region's party member voting on the 14th. In the national public opinion poll, Lee also secured a vote share close to 80%, confirming his lead.
On the afternoon of the 14th, after concluding the joint speech meeting for Daejeon and Sejong at Hanbat Sports Complex in Daejeon, Lee received a cumulative 73.28% of the votes. Park Yong-jin, another candidate for party leader, received 19.90%, and Kang Hoon-sik received 6.83%. This result adds the Chungcheong region's party member voting results to the previous votes from Gangwon, Daegu, Gyeongbuk, Jeju, Incheon, Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam.
In the first national public opinion poll released together, Lee received 79.69% of the votes. Park received 16.96%, and Kang received 3.35%.
In the Supreme Council member primary, candidate Jeong Cheong-rae ranked first with 28.22% in the party member voting. Following were Go Min-jung (22.11%), Jang Kyung-tae (11.48%), Seo Young-kyo (11.06%), Park Chan-dae (10.68%), Yoon Young-chan (7.73%), Go Young-in (4.57%), and Song Gap-seok (4.15%). In the first national public opinion poll, Jeong Cheong-rae received 30.61%, Go Min-jung 21.57%, Jang Kyung-tae 12.61%, Seo Young-kyo 11.78%, Park Chan-dae 9.50%, Yoon Young-chan 6.25%, Song Gap-seok 5.41%, and Go Young-in 2.27% respectively.
