Emphasizing the Need for Infrastructure Development and Location Conditions of Tourism Resources Integrated with the Coastline
Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam, conducted a maritime inspection to plan the development of tourism resources in Changwon, the central city of Northeast Asia.
View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam, conducted a maritime inspection on the 12th by boarding a fishing guidance vessel along with National Assembly member Choi Hyung-doo, Dr. Song Hwa-seop, and marine-related experts to plan the development of tourism resources in Changwon, a central city in Northeast Asia.
During the maritime inspection, they visited Jinhae New Port, Busan New Port, Myeongdong Marina, and Jinhae Port in sequence, discussing on-site plans for tourism resource development that connect large-scale industrial sites with the sea, a natural treasure.
In particular, Mayor Hong stated, “Considering the trend of expanding economic zones utilizing the coastline, it is necessary to simultaneously establish infrastructure for tourism resource development. Selecting suitable locations and conditions for tourism resources is of utmost importance.”
Mayor Hong visited the site and held discussions with National Assembly members, academia, and experts to jointly cooperate and explore future tourism resource development. He also plans to hold sessions to listen to the opinions of local residents in the future.
Changwon has a 324 km coastline along Masan Bay and Jinhae Bay, where port construction, fishing village renewal, coastal waterfront spaces, marine leisure and beach development, and marine park operations and development are being carried out in each region.
