Seoul City Appoints Yoo Chang-soo, Former SH External Cooperation Management Advisor, as Director of Housing Policy Office
Selection of Open External Experts to Lead Housing Policy in the 8th Local Government Term
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Seoyul] Seoul City announced on the 11th that it has appointed Yoo Changsoo (52), former External Cooperation Management Advisor at Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH Corporation), to the new position of Director of Housing Policy (Grade 1).
According to the city, Yoo Changsoo, the appointee for Director of Housing Policy, applied through an open recruitment process in accordance with regulations related to open positions and was selected as the top candidate by the Open Position Selection Committee and the Personnel Committee, which consisted of external experts, on the 2nd.
Yoo stated, "I will do my best to solve Seoul's housing issues and improve residential environments by working together with citizens, experts, and project participants to introduce various housing supply methods and create urban architectural environments for socially vulnerable groups."
Yoo Changsoo graduated from the Department of Architectural Engineering at University of Seoul and earned a master's degree in Environmental Landscape Architecture from Seoul National University Graduate School. He has since worked at the Urban Planning Research Department of Seoul Development Institute (now Seoul Institute), served as Policy Advisor to the Mayor of Seoul, was CEO of the Urban Division at East Eye Group, and served as External Cooperation Management Advisor at SH Corporation.
After completing pre-appointment procedures such as checking for disqualifications, Yoo is scheduled to be officially appointed on the 19th.
