Jinju-si Operates Child Welfare Counseling Center for Information-Vulnerable Groups...
Identifying and Supporting Vulnerable Households with Mobility Issues and Limited Information Access through Support Programs
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, will operate the ‘Oasis Mobile Welfare Counseling Center’ 20 times every Wednesday from the 17th to December 28th for information-vulnerable groups.
Since March 2020, the city has been operating the ‘Jinju Welfare Telephone Counseling Room,’ a welfare specialized counseling center, as the first in the province to implement citizen-centered welfare services.
This mobile welfare counseling center operation aims to visit two villages in each eup, myeon, and dong to directly listen and provide service information on-site for elderly people who have difficulty using online and offline services.
Through on-site counseling, the city plans to resolve the elderly’s welfare support concerns and identify vulnerable households in welfare blind spots to connect them with support projects.
The city plans to expand the operation of the mobile welfare counseling center to free senior citizen restaurants and senior welfare centers to ensure that no welfare-disadvantaged groups who need help but do not receive it due to lack of information are left behind.
