[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 11th that it has carried out a mid-year personnel transfer for 666 employees below grade 5, including 130 at grade 5 and 536 below grade 6, effective on the 16th.
This personnel transfer focused on the appropriate placement of personnel to realize the vision of the 8th term of the elected government, "Tomorrow☆is a City of Shining Opportunities," and to promptly resolve current issues.
In particular, to create "organizational stability" and a "vibrant Gwangju," priority was given to departments requested by employees, while up to 50% of vacancies were also filled by employees recommended by department heads.
Especially, the Gwangju Strategy Promotion Team, which will present the key issues for future development; the New Vitality Promotion Headquarters, which will elevate the city's appeal with landmarks; the Economic Startup Office, responsible for the livelihood economy and startups; and the Artificial Intelligence Industry Bureau, reorganized into next-generation industries, all renewed their personnel composition in line with the purpose of the 8th term organizational restructuring.
The Gwangju Strategy Promotion Team's Tomorrow Opportunity City Team leader position was advanced to Officer Kim Yongjin, the New Vitality General Manager's "Now It Is Possible" Team leader to Officer Park Yoonwon, the New Vitality Special Policy Team leader to Officer Kim Jaejoong, and the Tourism City Department's Storytelling Team leader to Officer Ko Jaehee.
Additionally, this personnel transfer was conducted according to transfer principles such as a three-year sunset rule for preferred departments and a restriction on transfers within one year, comprehensively reviewing job suitability based on competence and aptitude, as well as balance among departments, to invigorate the organization.
